It worked for Walt

So many of you know how I share from my influential time with my son.  Well there’s this movie – “Meet The Robinsons” – that was quite brilliant and I’m sure it’s definitely impacted the thoughts, and subsequently, the lives of adults and children.  The quote that was carried throughout the movie was –

Keep Moving Forward

Yeah, you know it.  Have you read/heard the full quote?  As you see, you can check it out below.

walt disney - keep mvng fwd quote

Cool right?!  So if it worked for Walt then let’s take this journey,  leading us to our dreams and goals.  This happens when we:

Think differently.  React differently.

Many of you are here now because of curiosity.  Not only so, but many of us refuse to settle because of that same curiosity.  Curious about what life is like on the other side.  Curious about tomorrow.  Curious about what makes the rich and/or wealthy ‘better’ than those who are not, as yet.  Well here’s a secret for you:

DECISIONS = RESULTS

Seems simple, right?  Well follow me because it’s more involved than you think. Just as homicide is the death of an individual and pesticide is the death of pest and so forth,  I found out, that DECIDE means – to put to death any other options.   This is what separates successful people (no matter how much they currently make) from those who just don’t get it.

So the other day I was talking to a gentleman who’s the owner of his own construction company.  He told me that he got started after quitting his job.  Get this, he quit because he wanted a $50 raise and was denied.  He thought to himself, if he is not worth $50 than he is in the wrong place.  It’s been over 64 yrs and he is now a millionaire with a legacy he has established for his children who can now run the business for him, if he didn’t still believe in working hard no matter the age.

Now I know some of us have been in the position of feeling like we were worth more than what someone was willing to pay us.  We’ve pondered the thought of doing something else (quitting, finding another job, starting a business, taking a trip, etc) and maybe even went so far as to write up a plan or goal-map.  What happened?  We stayed pondering and failed to decide because of the agonizing ‘What Ifs?’ and only saw it as it related to the negatives.  In other words, fear took up residence in our hearts and minds and kept us from moving forward by putting death to our hopes and the possibilities of tomorrow and the involved yet successful journey to life on the other side.  The other side of what?  The other side of fear, doubt, feeling helpless, having not enough, having just enough, and so forth.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Faith substantiates ones hope but if there’s no hope, there’s nothing for faith to validate.  Trying to prove your new invention or idea is not crap, while yet feeling that way inside, is not going to get anyone to believe – not even you.

Think -have no money, Say -have no money, Result -have no money. This becomes a cycle.

Be inspired to think like a millionaire.  Think like where you want to go as opposed to where you are. Stop with the defeated thinking.  Turn negatives into positives: What if it works? What if I get the loan?  What if my child goes from a C+ average to an A+?  What if I become the next example of success for my children/family/community/world?  What if…?

keep moving fwd -mtr movieAlso, stop looking back.  Whatever didn’t work before should be analyzed for your next move forward and that’s it.  No more attention or power should be given to it.  If you decide to step out…as Nike said, Just Do It!  Do what?

Keep Moving Forward.

It worked for Walt.

Please don’t go on any reality shows saying you had music lessons. This was for fun but you need more before you possibly embarrass yourself people. lol. Respect the music. And just because I saw it and thought it was cute here’s one last vid

So Picky!

My son is often given oatmeal for breakfast during the colder months. My wife will sometimes buy the variety instant packs for a quick make and eat and go.

Flavors: maple & brown sugar; cinnamon & spice; apple &cinnamon

Well apparently my son does not like cinnamon. He’s always been particular about foods. He’s double-digits now but when he was younger, he wouldn’t eat chocolate, popcorn, and more. He won’t eat cake that doesn’t have vanilla icing/frosting; and then still he eats the frosting not the cake/sponge part, but will tell you that the cake was delicious. lol.

As you can see in the pic, there are three flavors in the variety pack. The only one he doesn’t eat is the apple and cinnamon. Did I mention that he loves fruit. He will request a snack and when offered “junk” food, will say no he wants fruit. At 2 yrs he wouldn’t put down his apple to take photos.

So I know, you’re probably thinking you know what he doesn’t like from that flavored oatmeal pack. Ha-ha.

Well let me share this. My son has moments when he wants cereal. Not with milk. We’ll get the individual portion so he can enjoy it as a snack. His fav is the Cinnamon toast crunch. Yep.

Image result for cinnamon toast crunch

He also eats cinnamon french toast sticks. Loves those.

So what’s the big deal.

He does’t like CINNAMON. He doesn’t like apple either anymore – so He says. So he won’t eat that flavored  packet because there’s cinnamon and apple. Guess what he will eat?

Go ‘head….

Cause you already know!

He still likes getting McD’s Happy Meals and for the “side” he gets the…, you know. Not the yogurt; doesn’t like that.

He GETS THE APPLE SLICES. He eats the french fries first. Licks up any remaining sweet ‘n sour sauce from the packet that wasn’t used with the fries. Yep. Eats the fries and then the apple slices. Has to be reminded of the nuggets.

So yeah. He eats the Maple and Brown Sugar packs. He eats the Cinnamon and Spice packs.  He eats the Cinnamon French Toast Sticks.

But he doesn’t eat apples and he doesn’t eat cinnamon, so he says.

What am I missing?

And JUST before I go. I think it’s important to not leave…without sharing…

…he, who loves ketchup to the point of putting it on corn-on-the-cob and HE who loves tacos with the fixings…

does NOT, he says, like TOMATOES!

WHAT CHILD IS THIS? LOL.

Gotta love him. Sure do.

LOVE YOU POPS.

It’s Your Choice

Hey,

So at work today, I was feeling chipper as usual. I saw a co-worker and asked him, “Are you having fun?” He laughed and told me that I have a funny/weird sense of fun. My response to him was

 giphy

LOL, no it wasn’t, LOL

“Well they’ve said–Whistle while you work and Sing in the rain. If people can do that, then…”

He smiled and chuckled.

Look, every part of life is about choices.  We can choose the positive or the negative. We can choose the high or the low. We can choose the smile or the frown. We can choose life or we can choose death. We can choose to make a blog entry or not.

You know what? I heard/read somewhere that the average person (adult) makes about 35,000 decisions a day…

35,000!!!

…Children, about 3,000.  Of that 35,000, about 200 of those decisions are about food.

LOL, We are so greedy. I think mine should be 500. LOL

It seems unreal. Yeah, Crazy! We’re making judgment calls in our sleep. Yes, half sleep thinking –

Do I wanna get up now? Do I even wanna go to work? Is it raining?

I kind-of got side tracked.  But Why do we decide to be grumpy? Why do we quickly complain?

Let’s talk work/job/career:

It’s actually useless to complain about a job that you can leave, simply by making the choice to apply someplace else. If you’re there, why not have a good attitude. Though you may feel like a slave, you gave yourself to this place on the basis that you will be paid to do so. Are you getting paid? So stop griping and start whistling. I, unfortunately cannot whistle well, at all, but it’s highly likely to see me mouthing lyrics or snapping my fingers or bopping my head to something other than what may be playing around me.

It has been said by professionals –

If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.

What Do You Love To Do?

Go Pursue It?

Stop being miserable.

Sing.                  Whistle.                Smile.              Live.                     Laugh.                  Love God.

That’s a Millionaire’s Mindset.

I was just scrolling through my fellow writers’  works and saw this. Had to reblog

Supply or Demand

So I’m gonna keep it short and thought provoking.

People often talk about the terms Supply AND Demand. Yet the thought that crosses my mind is that of:

Would I prefer to have the SUPPLY or meet the DEMAND?

Now some may not get it but it’s like this. If you have hundreds of crocheted hats and nobody is interested, you have stuff around the house.

Image result for too much stuff But if you have people that are interested in wearing and displaying and showcasing and Buying these hats…

Well, now you have a DEMAND to meet. Image result for in demand

So do I rather deal with the pressure of having the stuff in the hopes that…

Or do I want to have the pressure of a demand placed on me, which requires more from me.

Okay Christians, this is for you. Do you prefer to walk around with the weight of knowing scriptures, having a relative theory on prayer, etc (also known as STUFF/SUPPLY) or can a DEMAND be put on you to walk the walk in and out of season and let this world know that Jesus Lives and that He’s coming soon.

Nobody expected me to turn this corner and pop up on this side of the conversation.

Yeah, I know.

I prefer it that way.

Got money on your mind

Isaiah 22:15-19. “Thus saith the Lord God of hosts, Go, get thee unto this treasurer, even unto Shebna, which is over the house, and say, What hast thou here? and whom hast thou here, that thou has hewed thee out a sepulchre here, as he that heweth him out a sepulchre on high and that […]

Please enjoy this Post I’ve shared from another writer. She has expounded very nicely on all of this and kept it to the point.

It’s important to know that the same money we think makes us, also breaks us.

No sense of taste

No sense of tasteDid you know that your tongue is picky?  I didn’t.  This diagram should be self explanatory.

Let’s talk about the whole taste thing.  Do you find that things you were forced to eat as a child, you do not like at all as an adult?  I do.  That’s how I feel about american cheese, especially those cheese singles that come wrapped individually in plastic.  Question? What sense of taste is that?  I don’t know, but I could do without that for good.

Now my wife, she is a junk food addict.  I don’t think she can go a day without something sweet or spicy.  Wait. Is spicy a taste?  Well to my wife it is and I guess to someone who can’t take their food too hot .  They would be like, “Aaah, that taste too spicy.”

I’m not a fan of sour things or salty.  Too much salt makes my head hurt anyway.  I don’t know, I like food but I think simple food can be just as extraordinary as something exotic.  Speaking of exotic.  What is umami?  My wife watches the food network and she doesn’t even know.  Maybe she missed that episode.  I guess I can do without that too until I do, and realize what’s missing and it’s that, then I ask for it back.

All in all, imagine not having to penny pinch when going out to eat.  Imagine not feeling like this:

prayer for money for taste

or this  good taste

That’s crazy, right.

Now imagine feeding the hungry because you’re financially stable and able and willing to help someone experience the tastes of life.  Well actually, people are experiencing the tastes of life.  Those two photos show the sourness of life. Life is spicy when it’s spontaneous and uncommon and adventurous.  Life is bitter when living in regret and unforgiveness.  No coincidence that the place of bitterness on the tongue is toward the back of the tongue.  You…you know, …

I can’t move forward and not know what umami is

Umami, a savory taste,[1][2][3] is one of the five basic tastes (together with sweetsourbitter and salty). A loanword from the Japanese (うま味?), umami can be translated as “pleasant savory taste”.[4] This particular writing was chosen by Professor Kikunae Ikeda from umai (うまい) “delicious” and mi (味) “taste”. The kanji 旨味 are used for a more general sense of a food as delicious.  People taste umami through receptors for glutamate, commonly found in its salt form as the food additive monosodium glutamate (MSG).[5] For that reason, scientists consider umami to be distinct from saltiness.

Okay, so I have no idea what they’re saying but maybe you, like me, will understand this:  umami chart                ripe tomatoes are rich in umami components  ripe tomatoes are rich in umami                                                                                                                                                                               components

Does that help?  Oh, I should have done the tongue thing.  Okay so let’s try this

umami- evenly distributed throughout the tongue

umami- evenly distributed throughout the tongue

So if this is what we should take from what umami is, then I guess I can’t do without this.  Not in its entirety anyway.

But going back to what I was saying without being here all day, let’s end with the sweet life.

Life is sweet when you’re not only able to live it up but to be a blessing to someone, enabling them to get a taste of abundance.

The New Millionaire’s Mindset is being a blessing, so somebody does not have to live with no sense of taste.

A local ice cream parlor invites you to create a new wacky flavor. It needs to channel the very essence of your personality. What’s in it?

Now you know that ain’t right. That’s a set-up for every man.  I mean I could be wrong.  It could just be me. But, eh, let’s do it. I can keep it clean.

Chocolate. Yeah, chocolate ice cream. Dark chocolate.  Not that I’m dark or that I like dark women, but I well enjoy some chocolate ice cream and, uh, let’s go ahead and include some Chunky (candy bar) chunks. Let’s now swirl in some peanut butter. Yeah, we’ll do that. Now cover that with some unsalted cashews and chocolate covered almonds.  Oh yeah. Not done, nope. Add some fudge please. Yeah. And for color, let’s stick a ring of pineapple on top.

Ready to eat?

What’s that smell?

grill  I’m not sure of that one smell I associate with summer, but I know a smell that is welcoming.   It’s not uncommon for the smell of one’s cologne to still be noticed in the winter or fall.  Unless someone lives in a bubble, there will always be contact with other individuals.  If they do or do not smell good, one will notice.  The smell of manure is certainly pronounced in spring. But how cool it is to walk along the coast and smell the ocean.  In conjunction with that is the aroma of food that resonates from grills.  It’s so amazing how smells catapult your thoughts and awaken other senses.  But truly, there is no other time that the smell of a grill is as strong.
Seasonal Scents

S’mores, salty ocean breezes, veggie burgers on the grill, sweaty people on the bus — what’s the smell you associate the most with summer?

Can’t Blame Jerry

As much as I love my laughs, I do also love productivity.  And getting things done requires more than just know how or resources and such like.

I’ve recently started watching Scandal–yeah I’m late in society’s time but right on time for my course, and I’m noticing one of many things.  The one thing that is relative to what I’m saying, is the ability certain characters have in pulling themselves together and moving forward.  Do you know what it takes to do that?

There is a mental setting and re-setting to deal with rough cases and issues of life and operate sanely anyhow. Pushing oneself day in and day out is no easy plight, not at first anyway.  Yeah, things may get shaky along the way, but that’s where and when the re-setting of one’s psyche comes into play.  How do I do that? Affirmations.  Not the ones of reminding myself of the problems. No. I was created to be a problem solver.  My strength is in my ability to know who and whose I am without shame, doubt or apology.  And though I can never be paid, in this world, what I’m really worth, I encourage myself to act like it’s so.  So not only do I do that but I do much more, late at night when I should be sleeping because I have to get back up in 4 hours.  No matter how tired I am, I make myself watch and/or listen to people that are at where I want to be.

And if all of that isn’t enough, I make sure I check out a bit of CSI or NCIS (both cities) -even if I’ve seen them already- or related shows that often end up watching me.  I move a lot and so every chance I get a moment to view a little tv, mostly On Demand stuff or Netflix, I do.   Besides that I may look at a few clips people send me on social media for laughs; it sets the mind in a ready position by being happy and bubbly, light and free.

So this is my response to the Daily Post and I hope you liked it. Not as funny as you may have thought, sorry.  I’ll have a laugh for you shortly.  Maybe some of my fellow night-owls will have jokes for you:
