A True Saint

In 300 years, if you were to be named the patron saint of X, what would you like X to be? Places, activities, objects — all are fair game.

Can one be in 300 years what they are not now?  Can someone be now and still be in 300 years?

The view of the future is tainted and deceptive; framed with ‘I Wish’ – ‘It’ll/That’ll be nice’ – and ‘Oneday’.  All nailed to the wall by Shoulda-Coulda-Woulda.  I’m squinting towards the future living in yesterday.  My present quickly fading; was it ever really here?

Where’s this man of the future? To me, is he near?

Is the man I am, the man I shall be?  Is the man I shall be, the man I am now?

If I’m ever to be, there must be a now; Cause how can one attain without reaching somehow?

But is seeking to be…Vanity?

I must be the man, that man; him who stands erect.  The man that knows it’s not about me; it’s really all about them.  Mistakes and all, this one thing is true.  I’m molded and fashioned and shapely too.  I am him just look up and see.  Elevate your thinking and be. Yes me! Be!

I’m talking to you, Man of Great Stature.  Even if, with storms and seasons did bend.  You did not break though.  You’re yet still here.  Lift up your countenance and…Where’s your grin?  The man to be is the man within, that is.  The man God created, now saint once sinner.

Who there is true and worthy among you?  We’ve lived contrived lives and look for our statue.  But ‘lived’ and ‘contrived’ are words of the past.  My right now decisions make me free, at last.

Proverbs 22:1 A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.

Ecclesiastes 7:1 A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one’s birth.

What does all of this have to do with a New Millionaire’s Mindset?

The richness of the Kingdom – Kingdom of God/Heaven – is Love.

What greater LEGACY to leave than that of showing those with and coming up behind you, even if they never knew you or ever will, that love is Saintly.  We don’t do to acquire a name because then one’s vain.  But in so doing, one can acquire a name that’s associated with one’s deeds; cause after all, one’s known for what they do and That actually names you.

Loving God. Loving Yourself. Loving Others as you love you. All of you. Every facet and stage of you.stature

So loving yourself is key and crucial. We’ve all made mistakes (regarding family, friends, finances and more).  Moving beyond your past is capable when you love you and loving you enables and increases an upright stature.

Know where you’ve been to know or get or…whatever

Know where you’ve been to know or get or…whatever

One of the things that’s a hit or miss, is reflecting on the past. You ever looked at your current circumstances and say, “Dag, how did I get here?” One of the questions people ask…still, “What did you want to be when you grew up?”  Really? Does that even matter?  Look at me now and see who I am, cause going back, for my future…Nah.

I always feel like I should be further than where I am.  It’s funny too, because other’s look at me and think I’ve got it made.  They have no idea the struggle, the stress, the will-power.  I smile to keep from laughing.  Yeah I said it right.  Cause if I laugh, I’ll activate too many nerves and ducts and stuff and break down before their eyes.  So you hear me chuckle and you think I’m funny.  I heard a comedian talk about having a third eye perspective on things/life  and telling jokes is the oxymoron of it all.  Telling jokes while feeling like one; the wisest fool if there ever was one.  High school drop-outs with a seven-figure income; college grads just tryin’ to get some. Help! get some Help! need some Help! want some…Help! if you please.  Hustlin’, tusslin’, running with the best of ’em.  But best is not enough.  At least not mine.

It’s amazing how many people are struggling around us.  Even the man in a three-piece suit (whether fellow commuter or one of the partners in our company) could be one paycheck from poverty or one discouraging thought away from walking into oncoming traffic.  Sometimes we want to start over in life and other times we just try to keep moving forward.  Whether you’re looking back or looking ahead, do it with a new mind.  Get it right in your head.  You ever spoke positive audibly and simultaneously an inward voice was just as loud speaking in jest, negating what you’re trying to confess.  Yeah, I’ve been there and still growing from there.  I’m learning that it’s not enough to speak so others hear, but hear so others speak.  Those other voices, that is: mama’s and papa’s and friends are there too; voices of self –What is the voice of you?  Voices of good and bad, voices of wealth.  Voices that give life or combat good health.   There are voices of wisdom and knowledge and truth, voices of anger, denial and lies too.  I mentioned some voices that can fall on either side because they all need to hear. Whatever you feed will develop and grow.  Whatever you starve will weaken till it’s killed with ease.

Start with this weekend than progress to a week, and so on from there of voices to starve vs. feed. So by the next time someone asks, “As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? How close or far are you from that vision?”, you’ll have matured to a place that have or have not, you’re content–not with mediocrity, with living.

The New Millionaire’s Mindset = Possibility

What is the difference between a real carpenter and a sham one?

This was the question on a Korean (I think it was Korean) movie that my wife saw.  The name of the movie is “A Moment to Remember.”  An aspiring architect, currently working as a carpenter, fell in-love with a designer and was now sitting with her father.  The father shows him a picture of J*s*s on the wall, then… well, let’s read it together.

Did you know Jesus was a carpenter?

A carpenter is a holy vocation.

What’s the difference between a real carpenter and a sham one?

Go to a shop and see many.  They [shams] all complain about the wood.  The real carpenter sees the texture.

What’s the texture?

The texture gets you anything.  A real carpenter can see that.”

I think that is powerful.  The father adds,

It’s the same with you.  You’re all wrong, but there’s texture.

This is so powerful.  This is so God to make Himself known as He who looks beyond our faults and sees our needs.  The One who is not taken back or at a lost with our shortcomings, but instead lets us know that when we are weak, then He is strong.

So what does this have to do with the new millionaire’s mindset?  I think you already know.  I think you see what I see.
